Flor Maria Bracero January 19, 1948 — June 14, 2026

Flor Maria Bracero, a beloved mother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on June 14, 2026. She was 78 years old. Born on January 19, 1948, in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, Flor Maria carried the warmth and spirit of her homeland with her throughout her entire life.

At the age of eight or nine, Flor Maria made her way to the Bronx, New York, where she reunited with her parents and siblings who had already settled there. It was in The Bronx that she built a beautiful life filled with love, purpose, and community, raising her family alongside her beloved husband, Robert "Bob" Thompson Sr. Together they built a home full of love, laughter, and devotion.

She dedicated herself to a remarkable career spanning over 25 years as a Financial Aid Officer at Medgar Evers College, CUNY in New York. Her commitment to helping students achieve their dreams of higher education was a true reflection of her generous and giving heart. She retired from this distinguished career with the respect and admiration of all who had the privilege of working alongside her.

In 2012, Flor Maria embarked on a new chapter, relocating to Minneola, Florida, to be closer to her beloved son. She embraced this transition with the same grace and warmth that defined her entire life, and her presence continued to be a source of light and love for all those around her.

Flor Maria was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Librado Bracero and Maria Bracero, her beloved husband, Robert "Bob" Thompson Sr., who passed away in 2006, as well as three brothers and two sisters who went home before her.

She is survived by her only son, Robert "Bobby" Thompson Jr., her oldest sister Antonia Bracero, her youngest sister Eduvina Bracero, a host of cherished nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, a dear circle of friends, and extended family members who will forever carry her love in their hearts.

Though her passing leaves a profound void in our hearts, we find peace in knowing that she has been reunited with her beloved parents, Librado and Maria, her beloved husband Robert, and her brothers and sisters who welcomed her home. Until we meet again — you will forever be loved and forever be missed. 🕊️❤️

Rest in paradise, my queen! I miss you so much! I love you until we meet again titi. I will make sure Bobby is good, I will watch over home! I love you!
Extending our deepest sympathy, thoughts and prayers to the Bracero family during this time of sorrow. Cherish the beautiful memories of Flor Maria always! Love & blessings!
